About Middlecott Farm

Middlecott Farm itself is listed in the Doomsday Book, but the Western family has been farming it for over 100 years.

At Middlecott we farm around 300 acres in the emerald heart of Devon as a traditional mixed arable and livestock farm. About 150 acres are farmed for hay and haylage, 100 acres are grazed by our herd of beef cattle, and 50 acres are used to grow a range of cereals and other crops. We also rear pigs and Christmas poultry, consisting of turkeys, geese and chicken.

On the way to nowhere our farm sits on Devon’s characteristically steep rolling hills and mixed geology. The farm is criss-crossed with traditional Devon earth banked hedges, with ponds, copses, and home to a wonderful array of flora and fauna living alongside our farming practices and old cob buildings.

We are passionate about bringing you the best products and services. Whether it's our farm-fresh Christmas poultry produce or our hay, haylage and straw get in touch!
